So, I'm finally getting around to ripping my copy of Harvest Season: Second Cutting to my computer and I have not been able to find the track list online anywhere (the titles did not come up when I put the CD in, so I have to enter them manually and I wanted to do it from an online list since it's just a loose CD so I couldn't read them while the CD was in my drive), so I thought I'd type it up here for those who are interested:
1. Cat & The Fiddle 2. The Whistling Gypsy Rover 3. Pour Your Brother 4. Stable Boy 5. Laydies Bryng Your Flowers Faire 6. The Hexhamshire Lass 7. March of Cambreadth 8. Stolen Child 9. Heather on the Moor 10. Harvest Season: Second Cutting 11. Dance of the Hoof and Horn
I don't know if they are still selling the CDs right now (I picked it up at the Lucky Lab Wintertide show and they also had them at Orycon) because this is just a temporary semi-finished version and my understanding is that they're coming out with the "real" version next year.
(If the track list is supposed to be secret since the album isn't "really" finished, let me know and I'll delete the post. I figured it'd be ok since it's not like I'm posting the actual music or anything.) |

Statistics are here!
You can now see the number of people who have visited your journal, your individual entries, a chart of comments, readers of the RSS feed of your journal, and the last 100 logged-in users who have visited your journal directly (if you've enabled My Guests).
Things you should know: -Stats are completely anonymous (only My Guests is tied to username); only numbers are recorded, not any other information -The times and dates in the graph are based on server time, which is UTC/GMT -The light grey number at the top left corner of the graph is the statistical outlier -While the graph may go back in time to this summer, the stats-gathering server was not on constantly, so previous stats may be missing. Today, and going forward, full stats are collected and displayed. -If you opt out of My Guests (meaning that your username will not show up on other people's reports and you will not be able to view your My Guests tab), it does not affect your use of the rest of the Stats - if you're a Paid or Permanent user, you'll still be able to see all the rest of the information on this feature

I am the Black Unicorn
The weird thing about this is that the song happened to be playing on my computer just as I was looking at my Friends Page, where matociquala had the link posted. |

Let's have a round of enthusiastic internet huzzahs! for Alec's Lucky Lab show last night. He played a two hour set to a packed room where pizza, beer, soda, and other nummies were delivered by a tireless, enthusiastic staff who confided, more than once, that they enjoyed the music as much as the audience.
For those who couldn't make the show, Alec announced that it was being filmed in the hopes of using some of the footage for a series of internet concerts. So remember, folks, no posting concert video footage of the Bard! Don't take money from his pocket, and he'll be able to continue making beautiful music for us. There was talk once more of a video for "Fang In Vein", but I'll believe it when I see Alec sensuously supping from a swooning s00j.
The first hour was a treat, Alec's first hour long, instrument inclusive concert since the surgery to repair the trigger-lock on both hands. He opened the show with a few holiday tunes (the guitar sounded a bit off, perhaps because of the cold even WITH the bodies packed cheek to, um, cheek) before sliding into a bit of regular fare including a tasty rendition of "Wander Lust". "Sacred Fire" translated quite well to Alec's voice and was dedicated, in part, to friends of Kore's who helped Alec's healing. At one point Alec remarked that he thought the most difficult part of the performance would be any lingering, post-surgery issues, when it turns out what bothered him most was the lack of calluses - tender fingers and steel strings are not comfortable bedfellows, it would seem.
Speaking of the Bard's surgery, a hearty round of thanks, appreciation, and warm fuzzies to the Pixies (s00j, K, and Betsy - I have no idea how to link to LiveJournal pages, sorry) for their support, financial and otherwise, that allowed Alec to have the procedures which allowed him to perform last night. According to Alec "the Pixies now own my hands". Lucky for Alec the Pixies like having him around enough that they will allow him to continue to perform with his hands so he won't be left behind while they take his hands to shows. May fortune and blessings favor the Pixies for their generosity that will pay itself forward to Alec and Tricky Pixie fans alike.
After a brief break, Alec treated the room to an hour of band-in-the-box "canned" music as he sang along to old favorites, new favorites, and holiday tunes. With Alec's added characterization, "Fang In Vein" was deliciously intense in a smoke'em if you got'em sense. "Golden Ring" a la Alec was very potent, as was "Gruagh" (sp?), and the, um, show for "Dance of Hoof and Horn" definitely made an impression on the crowd. Alec regaled the crowd with tales of the residents of Fae Hollow, and Kore insisted that he fess up to his own involvement in their many acquisitions, even going so far as to comment about Alec's attempts to encourage how she coaxed a cockatiel to come to her. Something about take off your shirt...
As promised, there was a special guest for the second half of the show. Alec remarked the song was a sing-along, turned on the band-in-the-box and began "By And By", wherein Heather took the lead for the second round of the song. What a delightful surprise! Alec assured us she would like it if we joined in, and we put our voices behind theirs to a heartfelt, glorious conclusion. Alec added his personal touch to the song's finish, and both of them received a standing ovation lead by Kore. Don't let Alec tell you that the standing ovation was solely for Heather, that certainly wasn't the case.
Kore was kept busy before, during and after the show, and there were notably fewer CDs on her table the time things were packed away. Look for the fully engineered release of "Harvest Season: The Second Cutting" sometime in 2010 as well as Alec's promised Samhain album round abouts that time of 2010 as well. Kore also advised Bard and Tricky Pixie fans alike keep an eye on the respective websites ( http://faerietaleminstrel.com/ and http://www.trickypixie.com/ ) for upcoming concert dates including the possibility of Tricky Pixie in Tacoma.
So, what did we learn this show? Well, we learned that Alec can't whistle and laugh at the same time, that Kore loves him and he her (pay no attention to the new lime pit at Fae Hollow), that Heather and Alec sound spectacular in their own right and only better when they harmonize, that what some people lack in a sense of rhythm they make up for with their enthusiasm. and that you can enjoy yourself in a room packed with friends you've never met when there is good food and even better music to spare.

**FINAL EDIT Thu Dec 10 02:15:47 UTC 2009**
So there is the final update... Over the past day we have processed around 11 million jobs out of the 12 million that were in queue at that time. Please bear in mind that over this past day, more jobs for notifications are also created. So while the queue has been dropping, we are still not fully caught up at this point, due to backlog and new jobs. We have roughly 3 million jobs still pending that involve the notification system in some manner. We had hoped we could have fully cleared the queue in a day, but unfortunately we can't clear it too quickly, since we need the rest of the site to operate normally. From our current perspective on the amount of jobs that are left in queue, and how many it has processed thus far, we believe it will take around another 8 - 12 hours to process everything.
And finally some answers to some questions:
